Frequently asked questions

What is the PAD?

The Société d'habitation du Québec's (SHQ) PAD aims to help disabled people by making their homes more accessible. Its aim is to enable people with limitations in their daily activities :

Should I sell or renovate?
  • Considering a move? It's important to bear in mind, however, that moving involves a lot of expense, and that sometimes a renovation can solve your worries or desires. If you're thinking of moving because you're running out of space, call us to find out how much it would cost to extend your kitchen, bathroom or finish your basement. Renovation is the best option if you want to stay in your home.
  •
What are the most cost-effective renovations?
  • Renovating your kitchen and bathroom ensures a better return on your investment. The kitchen is the ideal gathering place for family dinners and evenings out with friends, among other things. This centerpiece of the home is also the most expensive to renovate. Changing or restoring your floors also increases the value of your home. Of course, making certain changes, such as the lighting fixtures, to bring the house up to date will also be an important asset.
  •
How much do renovations cost?

It all depends on your budget and your desires! Costs vary according to your choice of materials and the room to be renovated. For example, for your kitchen or bathroom, a quartz, marble or dekton countertop will be more expensive than a laminate countertop. Our strength? Advise you and assess your needs with you. Your budget will also vary according to the scope of your work.

Do you work with your own team or with subcontractors?

We have our own team, all RBQ-certified, and we use certain subcontractors for special situations.

How do we approach your project?

An initial meeting will be held (free of charge) to assess your wishes and needs. A quotation will be e-mailed to you afterwards (free of charge). Every stage of the renovation will be communicated to you clearly and precisely, so that you're kept up to date with the project's progress.

How do we manage site cleaning and waste management during construction?

Throughout the work, we'll have a waste container set up right next to your entrance for easy waste management, so you don't have to worry about a thing. What's more, at the end of the work, you'll be offered a cleaning service to relieve you of this task after the work has been completed, so that you can enjoy your new home as quickly as possible.
